Lambing

This sections contains a detailed example of how to use FaST EID for a lambing record
This is an example of a possible template for lambing designed in conjuction with one of our customers.
Table 1 Table 2

The purpose of this process is to allow the easiest association of multiple lambs to a ewe. Table 1 will be used for the lamb's information, and Table 2 will be used for the ewe's information. The following example is one of triplets where this template has been used in the past and the ewe is already in the Reference Data Base (RDB).
1) Switch to Table two and scan the ewe's EID. This will bring up her info from last years lambing file that has been loaded as the RDB. If the ewe had more that one lamb (like this example with triplets) it will bring up three files. It does not matter which one is picked. Select a file by taping on it and then tap on Select Animal.

2) The ewe's information will populate Table 2. Switch to Table 1

3) On table one enter the lamb's information. The way to ensure track all the lambs from the same ewe is to assign one fo the fields Lamb# (or something like it) to indicate the number of lambs born at the same time (i.e. in this example we use a 2-3 to indicate this is the second lamb of three).

4) Repeat the process for each lamb. Make sure to always start with the ewe's information on Table 2 and then move to the lamb's information on Table 2.
