Software Functionality

Short Range Research

FaST EID is a fully customizable software program that fits the mold for animal research.  The program provides researchers the ability to collect animal information at the point of scan and instantly print barcode labels that can include four (4) additional fields of information.  Window bleeds, body condition scores, weights, trial assignments can all be done easily with this program and can be modified on-site to accomodate last minute requirements or corrections to the project.  The user can also have multiple studies running simultaneously and quickly modify headers between collections.  There are no species defined settings so the user can quickly switch from one species to another.

Long Range Research

FaST TRACK & TAG provide researchers the ability to monitor animals from up to 1/2 mile.  FaST TRACK is the tag management software program and FaST TAG is the active electronic ear tag that is applied to the animal.  Great tool for observational studies in pasture or rangeland settings.  The system can also be used for field sample collection to allow the user to accurately locate and identify animals in the field.  FaST TRACK is a software management program that connects effortlessly and wireless to the FaST TRACKER reader.  The FaST TRACKER reader is a directional antenna, which means that when you point the antenna in the direction of the animal of interest you will see nearly instant changes in signal strength of the tag on the screen of the hand held.  The signal strength is quantified both numerically and with common cellular signal strength bars to assist the user in locating animals of interest.

FaST Monitor & TAG are tools for remote monitoring of livestock in pasture or rangeland settings.  This is a portable station that can be configured for solar or standard power and is rated to handle extreme weather conditions.  These tools provide 24/7 monitoring for the presence of livestock in areas of interest, relative distance and location of the animal from monitoring tower and can be designed for remote data access using GPRS (cellular) or sattelite communication networks.  If the area of interest expands beyond optimal read range of the tower, multiple tower systems can be networked to cover expanded areas.

Field Proven

All programs are field proven and the hand held software programs run on a rugged field PC that was developed to handle cold, hot, wet and dry conditions.  The user interface for each of these programs was designed to improve accuracy and eliminate human error.
